Message from Head

Welcome to the Dodford First School website!

Dodford First school  pupils come from both the village and from all across Bromsgrove.  The school was established in 1877 and has traditionally been one of the focal points of village life. It has close links with the community and is able to draw on this relationship to offer pupils an even more varied school experience.

The school has a thriving PTA who are actively involved in fundraising.  This year they have supported school swimming, yoga sessions, whole school trips to Smart Trees and the Sealife Centre.

The school is well maintained and cared for with recent new refurbishments to the school hall and a new “Danish Garden” for extra outside learning opportunities. Last summer, a new library and small group teaching space was added to our facilities. The playground is large and interesting and adds to the school facilities for both break times and PE.

As a small school with a maximum of 75 pupils, our learners develop strong relationships across year groups and we believe this adds to the experience offered by our “community” school ethos.

I should be delighted to offer you a tour of the school at your convenience.  Please contact the school secretary, Mrs Whatton for an appointment

Aims Of Our School

1. To provide a happy, safe secure, stimulating and exciting environment in which children can grow as enthusiastic, thoughtful and tolerant individuals.

3. To build the children's confidence and self-esteem and to encourage self-discipline, self evaluation, independence and a life-long love of learning.

4. To provide challenges, opportunities and resources to enable all our children to acquire knowledge and skills, both academic and social, to the best of their ability.

5. To work in partnership with parents in the education of our children.
